I picked this book because when I saw it, it just caught my eye. Also I wanted to know why the author, Julia Alvarez, wrote stay and crossed out visit.
This book takes place in Vermont. The person who tells this story is Miguel. The protagonist in this story is Tia Lola. Other major characters in this book are Miguel, Juanita and their mother.
This book is about how a family who meets their Tia Lola. When she comes from the Dominican Republic. They learn how to love their Tia Lola. At first they had doubts about her coming to visit, but then after she came they didn't want her to leave.
What I like about this book is how a family gets a lot closer.How Tia Lola was nice and made Miguel's uniforms for his baseball team. Also how she helped Miguel and Juanita for their mother's surprise party. Basically, how they've gotten closer from the time Tia Lola came to the time she was getting ready to leave.
