This is a totally cool book. It's just a book that teaches life lessons to middle school kids.
It's about a kid named Joe who is gay and is writing his "alphabiography" to his teacher for a school assignment. He writes his "alphabiography" based on his 7th grade life. It's not just his 7th grade life, he makes flashbacks from his childhood. His only problem is that he doesn't understand why a kid named Kevin makes fun of him so much at school.
He has to go through name calling and a boyfriend. The best thing that he has is his aunt that loves him, and his friends, the Gang Of Five, are misfits. It's a totally funny cool book. I recommend you read it.
P.S. "Life lesson #1: Middle school is like being trapped in a reality show, where there's no way off the island and you're always the loser. "Life lesson for parents:"Love your kids, let them play with Barbies. Let them pick out the stuff in their bedroom. (Hello.) And don't tell them that "people like that" make you upright, because for all you know your kids just might be " people like that" too." Life lesson #3: "Being who you are isn't a choice". Life lesson #4: "Alphabiographies should be full of italics, CAPITAL LETTERS, and exclamation points! (just like life!) And they should never end with the words "the end" they should always end with:
TO BE CONTINUED!!!!!"
